Supreme Court Nomination
President Trump announced the nomination
of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. If Kavanaugh is confirmed, he will fill the
vacancy left by Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement. Kavanaugh spent 12 years on the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, longer than any recent Supreme
Court nominee except for Ginsberg, who served 13 years. However, as with any other Supreme Court
nomination, there are conflicting opinions as to whether he is the right judge
for the position. It is up to the Senate
to confirm or deny the nomination.
